I am looking for assistance modifying a Retevis RT3S HT with the M17 mode hardware mod. M17 is a newer digital mode that uses an opensource codec. I don't know of any radios on the market that are being sold with it yet but there are mods that can be done to a few radios for it. Pi-star even supports M17 now.

Between my aging eyes, copious amounts of caffeine, lack of de-soldering tools, fine soldering tools, magnification tools, and overall lack of experience with surface mount components (I've only ever worked with through the board soldering) I think I need someone to help me do this mod. I am including a few websites if you are curious about M17 as well as a youtube video url that shows someone doing the mod for reference.

I purchased a Retevis RT3S radio with the intent of doing this mod myself but realized I am in over my head when I watched the video (listed below.)

I am more than willing and expect to reward your "elmering" with a barter of your choice. Please reach out if you'd wish to give this a go. I live in the general Centennial / Highlands Ranch area but am willing to meet any place in the greater (much greater even) Denver metro area.

The following are sites giving information about M17, OpenRTX, what the mod entails, and a video of the modification.
